CPC in Road Haulage
Who is the course for?
Suitable for logistics employees and those ports employees whose duties include transport management.
If you need to gain - or maintain - a Standard Operators Licence for use with goods vehicles and vehicles carrying for hire or reward, then you must first gain the Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage qualification.
You will need a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy plus a knowledge of the road haulage industry at supervisory or management level.
Course Outline
This course will give you all the preparation you need to prove “professional competence” and successfully take the Certificate Of Professional Competence in Road Haulage (CPC) qualification - and you can choose whether you wish to work towards the National or the International certificate.
The course explores the key pieces of contract, company, social and fiscal legislation that your business must observe in order to operate within the law. Depending upon which certificate you are working towards, you will focus on either national and/or international legislation. The course also covers the practical aspects of managing a road haulage business - from ensuring that you have sufficient funds to trade to preparing a realistic business budget.

- Managing National Road Haulage Operations, and/or;
- Managing International Road Haulage Operations
Course Objectives
On completion of this course, you will be fully prepared for formal assessment in either or both of two qualifications in the road haulage industry:
- The Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage Operations
- The Certificate of Professional Competence in International Road Haulage Operations
Delivery
The National course lasts for 8 days, and 5 days for the International. Candidates must sit a series of examinations, and will receive a certificate for each module they pass. Once the required combination of modules has been achieved, a full National or International certificate will be issued by OCR.
